Democrats just took control of the Senate, and Mitch McConnell and the GOP are already scheming to restore their power in 2022.

Think about what that would mean: no prospects for the passage of vital legislation, a Republican Senate that would block federal judges who will uphold the privacy of women's health care, and no prospects for overturning the Citizens United decision.

My friend and colleague, Democratic Senator Catherine Cortez Masto, is one of the Republican Party's TOP midterm targets in 2022.

Why:

* Catherine played a pivotal leadership role in helping the Democrats flip the Senate, and she was instrumental in helping us win in Georgia.

* Joe Biden won Nevada by fewer than 35,000 votes - making Nevada one of the Senate battlegrounds in 2022.

John, we were only able to win our Senate majority this year because of Catherine's support.

It's critical that Democratic Senators like Catherine have the resources early to build strong enough campaigns to fight off the millions in GOP attacks ads that will be coming their way.

If we want to defeat this pandemic, if we want to get our economy back on track and build back better, if we want to deliver health, jobs and justice for the people, we need to keep control of the Senate beyond next year.
