[link removed] [[link removed]]Dear John,
Today marks 100 days since President Biden took office — and what a 100 days it's been so far, especially when it comes to climate action and the environment.
During the campaign, President Biden promised to tackle the climate crisis in his bold agenda for America and so far, he hasn't let us down. He used these first 100 days in office to deliver on his promises to prioritize jobs, justice, and climate.
In the last three months, the president has surprised us with how quickly he's moving to keep his word on overturning the climate denial and environmental damage of the previous administration, including freezing oil and gas leases on public lands, stopping planned drilling in the Arctic Refuge, and an executive order to protect 30% of lands and waters by 2030.
He's ensuring that the United States leads the world on climate action by pledging to cut greenhouse gas emissions in half by 2030, hosting a climate summit with 40 world leaders and rejoining the Paris Agreement.
The Biden Administration has put climate and justice front and center in their major legislative proposals — investing in a clean energy economy to create millions of good paying green jobs, reducing carbon emissions, improving public health, and securing equitable and just economic opportunities for all.
I am delighted to share this wonderful video from Maine's own climate champion, Congresswoman Chellie Pingree [[link removed]] , who filmed a short video detailing President Biden's work on climate and the environment during his 100 days.

Maine is so lucky to have Congresswoman Pingree's leadership on climate change and environmental protection!
Of course, there's still much more work to do, and we'll continue keeping up the pressure on our federal, state and local elected officials to prioritize the climate crisis — but we're hopeful that the first 100 days are a sign of even more action on climate and the environment to come.
