On Monday,?Ohio Governor Mike DeWine and Lt. Governor Jon Husted announced?the approval of assistance for seven projects set to create 845 new jobs and retain 319 jobs statewide. During its monthly meeting, the Ohio Tax Credit Authority (TCA) reviewed economic development proposals brought to the board by JobsOhio and its regional partners. Collectively, the projects are expected to result in more than $48 million in new payroll and spur more than $12 million in investments across Ohio.?
On Wednesday, Governor DeWine announced the Ohio Department of Natural Resources (ODNR) and American Electric Power (AEP) have reached an agreement that will secure more than 31,000 acres of public land in perpetuity for conservation and outdoor recreation.? The land is in Morgan, Muskingum, Noble, and Guernsey counties in eastern Ohio and will be acquired in parcels over the next two years.
Also on Wednesday,? Lt. Governor Husted traveled to Northwest and Western Ohio for events in Perrysburg, Lima, and Wapakoneta to raise awareness for the administration?s new ?TechCred? program, which launched last week. The events, held at local businesses, community colleges, and career centers, are designed to get businesses and training centers connected with the new program during its first open enrollment period, which continues through October 31st at TechCred.Ohio.gov.
On Friday, Governor DeWine visited Jergens, Inc. in Cleveland to recognize Manufacturing Day in Ohio. Governor DeWine toured the facility and discussed Jergens' workforce training programs.
