The role is to provide a comprehensive safeguarding service to colleagues working in schools and other educational settings including, non-maintained and independent schools, free schools, academies, alternative education providers, education support services and further education institutions. This will include the development and provision of a comprehensive safeguarding training programme; the provision of support, advice and guidance in relation to safeguarding; and the development and implementation of quality assurance processes across schools.

The post holder will undertake the role of designated officer in relation to allegations against staff in schools, education settings and other agencies where appropriate.

*ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS:
*

* In depth knowledge of relevant legislation, guidance, policy and procedures in respect of children and adults at risk.
* Practiced gained within one of the wider partnership agencies of the Local Safeguarding Children Partnrship (includes schools, further or higher education).
* Ability to work effectively under pressure, ensuring that deadlines and statutory timescales are adhered to.
* Excellent report writing and presentation skills.
* Able to maintain confidentiality in sensitive situation, knowing when to shaate information and to accept responsibilioty for decision making.
* Ability to think ahead to anticipate opportunities, take immediate action to prepare for the future and empower others.
