FDA Pledges to ban menthol cigarettes

Today’s news that the FDA is taking action to ban menthol cigarettes and flavored cigars will save hundreds of thousands of lives.This is a huge step forward, and would not have happened without activists like you keeping the menthol conversation alive through actions like the Finish Flavors College Tour, the Black Lives/Black Lungs documentary and all the other ways you stepped up and mounted the pressure to take action!

For today, we’re celebrating this win and the impact that it will have on the lives and health of millions. But our work doesn’t stop here.

This ban is a long overdue and necessary step toward eliminating Big Tobacco’s influence in our communities -- but unfortunately, the ban does not go far enough. The FDA’s proposal does not include vape products, meaning you still have work to do.

Let’s keep the pressure on.
