Hi John,

Last week, I voted alongside my colleagues in the House to pass the No Ban Act, which would prevent executive orders like Trump's Muslim ban from ever being enacted again.

Trump's travel ban was illegal, ill-conceived, and Islamophobic. Families were separated, and many people were denied the right to counsel.

President Biden reversed Trump's Muslim ban and is supporting the No Ban Act, but we need it to pass the Senate to ensure that no future president can enact such reprehensible legislation again.

The House passed the No Ban Act along party lines, which means that it will face a struggle in the Senate. The GOP is claiming that this bill will exacerbate the “Biden border crisis” -- their catch phrase they've leaned on to oppose every piece of Democratic immigration policy.

We need to show the GOP that we can't allow xenophobia and religious discrimination to exist in our country. Please, I need you to weigh in right now:

Should the president be able to issue discriminatory travel bans?
YES   NO

Thank you so much for sharing your thoughts at this critical moment.

Mary Gay
