Dem AGs have been incredibly busy since Joe Biden was elected—here’s 3 big things I don’t want you to miss.
Team,
For the past four years, Democratic Attorneys General have been the last line of defense for our communities.
Over and over again, when the Trump administration crossed each line, or put forth another devastating policy, Dem AGs were there to stop them in their tracks.
Voters sent a message in November – the days of playing defense are over. After this devastating pandemic and recession, Dem AGs have a long list of priorities to get our democracy back on track and ensure communities build back better. But they need our help to get them done.
Dem AGs aren’t wasting any time, team, and there are 3 big actions that everyone should know about:
Protecting and expanding our right to vote. The GOP’s voter suppression efforts have gone into overdrive since the election in November, but so have Dem AGs. They’ve urged Congress to pass wide ranging legislation like H.R. 1 to make sure people can vote safely and securely.
Saving the Affordable Care Act. As GOP AGs worked to systematically tear down the ACA in the middle of a deadly pandemic, Dem AGs argued before the Supreme Court, defending the ACA for the 130 million Americans who depend on it to stay healthy and safe.
Advancing the fight for student loan debt cancellation. An albatross around the necks of an entire generation, student loan debt is a burden that’s holding us back – especially for seniors and BIPOC communities. Dem AGs are fighting for relief, calling on the White House and Department of Education to forgive up to $50,000 per borrower.
