Dear team,
I was honored to witness history last night during President Biden’s first address to Congress and the first joint session ever presided over by two women.
It was bittersweet watching history unfold from the House gallery last night. Like I told reporters after the address, this was the first time I’d sat in the gallery since January 6. I talked about this and my reaction to the address with Fox 5 News:
Over the last 100 days, I’ve been proud to work with President Biden to deliver impressive results for the American people. Our historic rescue plan has gotten 200 million COVID vaccines in arms, provided badly needed relief to families and, most importantly, is projected to cut child poverty in half.
But our work has just begun. President Biden laid out an impressive plan to dramatically expand government services and re-invest in the middle class without increasing the deficit! The proposal includes universal pre-k, expanded access to health care, free community college and more.
Click here to watch my reaction to President Biden’s address (and if you can, I hope you’ll chip in to my re-election campaign).
Yours in service,
Congressman Gerry Connolly
