column covers how many foundations are supporting efforts to increase maternal health and prevent maternal mortality.
A number of foundations have been awarding grants to improve maternal health and prevent maternal mortality. The April 2021 GrantWatch column, by Health Affairs’ Lee L. Prina, highlights several of those projects.
In the column, Prina describes a sampling of grants from funders including the Bezos Family Foundation, the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, the California Health Care Foundation, and more.
Also, the A. James & Alice B. Clark Foundation awarded a large grant to MedStar Health to address high mortality rates among moms and babies in Washington, D.C.
