The Far Right's bigoted attacks on women of color public servants are part of a trend going back decades. Since #HerFightOurFight launched last month, our campaign to champion and support women of color nominees to leadership positions within our federal government has seen a crucial success: Vanita Gupta was confirmed to the third highest post in the Justice Department, where she will bring a vital civil rights lens to the Department.

Now we turn to supporting Kristen Clarke for head of the Civil Rights Division at the DOJ, which would deeply benefit from her career and lived experiences. The Far Right’s attacks on Clarke have continued unabated, and we need your support to make sure the Senate confirms her. Help us make her fight, our fight.

“People For is leading an innovative campaign to defend Kristen Clarke and highly qualified nominees like her from the Right’s bigoted attacks and lies. And with the Clarke confirmation fight heating up, the stakes are high and they need your help.” – Gov. Deval Patrick

To inform members of the latest developments and discuss the path forward on reimagining public safety in our communities and what activists can do to help, People For held a digital briefing to discuss the verdict in the case and the future of justice in America.

There’s no question that President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris hit the ground running on January 20, and they've made impressive progress during their first 100 days in office.

Yet, despite a Senate Democratic majority that shares their robust agenda, a significant number of “we, the people” priorities have once again landed in Minority Leader Mitch McConnell’s legislative graveyard. The only way to set them free is to take away McConnell’s minority veto power.

Right before President Biden's speech to the joint session of Congress on April 28, our Young Elected Officials Network hosted an event on voting rights and defending democracy.

People For's Deputy Director of Leadership Programs Markus Batchelor and Georgia House Representative Park Cannon met virtually to discuss the work that must be done at the White House and in Congress to expand and defend the right to vote. Don’t miss out on this engaging conversation - watch now!
