John,
President Biden's first 100 days in office have been beyond historic. We've seen millions of shots in the arms of Americans, stimulus checks deposited into hundreds of thousands of bank accounts nationwide, and delivery on dozens of promises made during President Biden's campaign -- and the administration has only just begun. The days of corruption and empty promises from the Oval Office are behind us. We are entering a new era of American security and prosperity. Here's a closer look at the data provided by the DNC on the success of President Biden's first 100 days in office.
COVID-19
President Biden and Democrats passed the American Rescue Plan to boost vaccine distribution and economic rescue payments. Many have called the ARP “the most significant legislation” in a generation. Experts say it will cut child poverty in half by next year. The Biden administration has administered over 200 million shots in less than 100 days. More than half of U.S. adults have gotten one shot, including 38% of Kansans. Daily deaths are now down 75% nationally since January 20.
ECONOMY
85% of all Americans have received a stimulus check. President Biden cut taxes for families with children, so that families, starting in July, will get a $3,600 tax credit for each child under 18. On top of this, President Biden proposed a tax code that rewards work instead of wealth and pays for the administration’s agenda.
INFRASTRUCTURE
The Biden administration launched the American Jobs Plan, a once-in-a-generation investment in infrastructure to make America more competitive, and help create millions of jobs. President Biden and his administration created more new jobs in the first 100 days than any president in history. On top of this, the Biden administration cut premiums for those who get health coverage from the Affordable Care Act. Four in five now can get plans for $10/month. 500,000 people signed up for coverage during special enrollment.
DIVERSITY
President Biden has the most diverse Cabinet in history, including the first openly LGBTQ cabinet secretary, first Native American cabinet secretary, first woman Treasury Secretary, first African American Secretary of Defense, first Latino Secretary of Health and Human Services, and first Asian American U.S. Trade Representative.
CLIMATE
The Biden Administration rejoined the Paris Climate Accords, and for the first time ever, the US is hosting a virtual global climate summit for world leaders to make commitments to reduce their emissions. On top of this, President Biden promised large scale investments in clean energy for America.
