Dear Friend,
A 17-year old, Darnella Frazier, began a new era in the fight for racial
justice when she videotaped the murder of George Floyd. Her video has
been credited with leading to the conviction of former Minneapolis
police officer Derek Chauvin.
Since Floyd's murder, young people across this country have continuously
taken to the streets, demanding an end not only to unjustified police
and vigilante murders of people of color, in particular Black and Brown
people, but also calling for a true multiracial, multicultural
democracy, in which all people can feel safe and thrive.
As Race Forward celebrates 40 years of working at the intersections of
"#RaceAnd" , we are inspired to uplift the ideas, strategies, and
solutions of youth and young adults who have and continue to lead racial
justice work in this country.
