Back in 2018, we fought hard to win this district, and we flipped a seat that Republicans held since 1982. And every day since, I’ve been proud to spend my time in Congress fighting on behalf of working families, asking the tough questions, and calling out the B.S.
In 2020, we proved that our campaign wasn’t just a one-off “blue wave” phenomenon. We fought hard, continuing to strengthen and grow our grassroots movement that put people over politics.
And as we look towards the 2022 midterms, I feel so grateful for how far we’ve come. But I’m also reminded of the reality: my district is one of the most vulnerable districts a Democrat could be in.
Despite our hard work over the last few years, Orange County is still considered “purple”. And the GOP knows this, too. The National Republican Congressional Committee is already mobilizing their supporters to flip this seat.
That’s why I’m counting on your support now so I can keep fighting, John. Right now, our focus is on securing early resources to make investments in organizing our communities, advertising our message, registering new voters, and fending off any future challengers.
