Last night, President Biden delivered a vision for our future that, if implemented, will transform American society―creating good-paying jobs for the future, raising wages, and investing in our children and communities.
We have a lot of work to do to get the Senate and House of Representatives on board. Here’s what the president said in his address to a joint session of Congress:
“So how do we pay for my jobs and family plan? ... I will not impose any tax increase on people making less than $400,000. But it’s time for corporate America and the wealthiest 1 percent of Americans to just begin to pay their fair share. Just their fair share.”
John, we share President Biden’s vision: That we can invest big time in our future, and it’s time the rich and corporations paid their fair share to help make it happen.
We have a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to change the direction of our country, create millions of new jobs, grow the middle class, address poverty and finally begin to address systemic racism.
