In just a minute, I’m going to ask you to contribute to my campaign as part of our last-minute fundraising push for April. We’re falling just a bit short of our goal, so I hope you’ll let me briefly explain why this request matters so much.

Between working hard to get us through this crisis and giving American families the support they deserve to navigating an evenly split 50-50 Senate, there’s a lot Congress has on its plate.

Most days, raising money for our campaign is the last thing on my mind given how many important fights we have going on right now. So, it’s really no surprise that we’re tracking behind on our April goal.

That’s why I hope you can understand why I’m emailing you. We’re not far behind where we need to be to hit our goal ahead of this all-important deadline. A donation of $3, or whatever you’re able to spare right now, will go a long way toward closing the gap in our fundraising.
