I wanted you to be the first to know how incredibly proud and thankful I am to receive the endorsement of Julián Castro, a real champion for the people.
Like Julián, I am so grateful that my family had the opportunity to achieve the American Dream. It’s a dream that feels far too out of reach today and one we are working tirelessly to bring closer to reality for millions of families like ours.
Julián and I also share a desire to create a pathway to citizenship for the millions of undocumented immigrants and their families living in the United States.
This is something I am deeply passionate about and ready to fight for in the Senate. That’s why I introduced my first bill in the Senate called the Citizenship for Essential Workers Act that would provide a pathway to citizenship for over 5 million undocumented essential frontline workers.
These progressive reforms may make me a top target of some far-right Republicans who would love to defeat me and eliminate our majority in the Senate.
But I know that if all of you have my back just like Julián, we are going to win this race and defend our majority.
