A lot of people want to know what my job as a member of Congress entails.

To me, it’s simple: It’s my job to come to work every day and do what’s best for the people I represent. It’s my job to do what is right, not what is politically expedient or safe.

- I’m working for real solutions to our climate crisis. Inaction will have catastrophic consequences for communities across our nation, and we must seize our opportunity to stop global warming AND build a green economy where everyone can succeed.
- I’m fighting to ensure quality, affordable healthcare for all. Millions lost their coverage when they became unemployed in the middle of a pandemic, and millions more worried about being able to afford the treatment they needed -- it’s time to fix our broken system.
- I’m standing up to the gun lobby. I won’t stop fighting for the common-sense gun reforms we need to keep my family -- and yours -- safe.
- I’m committed to defending our democracy from a party that has been overtaken by far-right extremists. I will never stop fighting to protect every American’s rights and ensure our federal government leads with the facts.

But to continue doing this work and making the progress we need, I need you to continue standing by my side.

National Republicans are just 5 seats away from retaking the House -- if they succeed, they’ll do everything they can to stop the progress we are making under President Biden dead in its tracks.

They’ve got a dark money fundraising machine on their side powered by giant corporations and special interest groups, and I’m one of their top targets.
