Hi, John — it’s Lily, Mark’s finance director.

I wanted to reach out with a quick update because tomorrow is our April fundraising deadline — a critical deadline for us and this campaign.

Our goal is to get 35,000 donations before the deadline expires and the good news is we’re over 88% of the way to that goal — so all we need to do is finish strong!

So in order to counter this avalanche of outside spending, we are going to fight back one $5 donation at a time. Because that’s how we are going to hold this seat and keep Mark in the Senate.

Unlike our opponents who rely on blank checks from Super PACs, our goal is based on the number of people donating and not a dollar amount because this campaign is funded by people — people like you.

So it’s important that we hit this goal because everyone is going to be looking to see if we have the resources to compete with the millions in outside spending.

You can see how important this is, which is why I have to ask:

If you are able, will you make a $3 donation before our April fundraising deadline? The amount isn’t as important as the donation itself because it’s going to take a lot of people chipping in a few bucks at a time to help reach our 35,000 contribution goal.

We are proud of the way we fund this campaign. A campaign funded by people, for the people, will always be stronger than the Super PACs who want to defeat us.
