Every year on April 30, we celebrate National Animal Advocacy Day! How can you participate and advocate for animals today? Speak up for dogfighting victims.
Although dogfighting is a felony in all 50 states, it persists all over the country. While our government takes this crime seriously, current federal law still treats rescued dogfighting victims as property instead of living beings.

Because they’re considered “evidence,” rescued dogs can’t begin their journeys toward rehabilitation until the court cases finish, which can take months, or even years. These vulnerable animals need and deserve a chance for fresh starts in loving homes.
What You Can Do
You can help!

Tell your U.S. representative to pass the HEART (Help Extract Animals from Red Tape) Act, a bill to facilitate faster rehabilitation of innocent dogs rescued in federal cases. Please don’t delay—help these dogs start new lives sooner.
Thank you!
