Every child in Rhode Island deserves to attend a school that is warm, safe, and dry. As Chair of the School Construction Task Force, I just made an announcement at the new East Providence high school that is scheduled to open in September 2021. @sethmagaziner.com>@sethmagaziner.com>
This new high school and many others were made possible by the once in a generation investment we are making in our public schools. To date, $1.3 billion has been approved to repair and replace 160 school buildings across the state, creating more than 21,000 jobs. @sethmagaziner.com>@sethmagaziner.com>
This program not only gives children in Rhode Island the schools they need to thrive but will create new jobs in a time where our economy is in need of rebuilding. So many people in our communities have lost jobs throughout the pandemic and this is a step towards recovery while repairing our school facilities for our children. @sethmagaziner.com>@sethmagaziner.com>
My team and I have worked hard to make sure that our state’s educational facilities are fit to serve our students and teachers. We will continue to think of innovative ways to create jobs and help kickstart our state’s economy.
