Heritage Foundation policy experts responded <[link removed]> Wednesday evening to President Biden’s far-left address to a joint session of Congress.

Vaccine Rollout <[link removed]> – Let's look at President Biden's touted COVID-19 vaccine goal. His mentioned distributing 100 million vaccine does in 100 days. The Trump administration was already immunizing a million people daily. Biden would have to slow down immunizations to continue at that pace. He acknowledged this less than a week after formally announcing the first goal. He said on January 25, ‘We’ll be able to get that to 1.5 million a day.’ That revised goal held for just one day. On January 26, Biden said there will be enough to immunize fully 300 million Americans by the end of the summer, beginning of the fall. That was in line with the Trump administration’s expectations. Heritage expert: Doug Badger <[link removed]>

“Free” Universal Pre-K and Community College <[link removed]> – When Biden mentions universal pre-K, he's talking about government-funded preschool programs. We have studies that these programs have little impact on the cognitive, social-emotional, and health outcomes of participants. And "free” community college will not make college more affordable or accessible. Besides, more than half of students in community colleges did not pay tuition or fees because of existing federal aid. Heritage expert: Lindsey Burke <[link removed]>

Guns <[link removed]> – Neither regulating “ghost guns” nor making gun owners pay a $200 tax for pistol arm braces meaningfully addresses root causes of gun violence. These actions are, in fact, far more likely to turn responsible gun owners into felons than to prevent a single gun death. Heritage expert: Amy Swearer <[link removed]>
Taxes <[link removed]> – The president’s plan implements much of the so-called Green New Deal. This will cost an average family $165,000 over time— including a 30 percent plus rise in electricity. While politicians will highlight jobs in government favored sectors, this will wipe out 5.2 million jobs overall in the process. Heritage expert: Joel Griffith <[link removed]>
Election Integrity <[link removed]> – Senators who support H.R. 1 should realize that they are essentially in favor of throwing the validity and credibility of future elections in doubt and taking away the authority of the voters of their states to make their own decisions on how their elections should be run. Heritage expert: Hans von
