Last week, a brutally racist and xenophobic caucus was unveiled by my GOP colleagues in the House.
The America First Caucus called for an end to COVID-19 restrictions, foreign aid, and mail-in voting -- and asserted that America was founded on “uniquely Anglo-Saxon political traditions” that are threatened when “foreign citizens are imported en-masse into a country.”
In the House, I fight for immigrants and refugees, for truth and integrity in our elections, and for all Americans -- regardless of race or ethnicity. This caucus shows what's at stake in our fight for justice. I will do everything in my power to keep these pernicious beliefs from impacting policy in the House, and I will fight to get the authors of this hateful caucus voted out in 2022.
It's of the utmost importance that we properly gear up for 2022 to make sure that we keep our House majority. We can't let the America First Caucus gain control of Congress. That's why my team is already organizing hard in PA -- a swing state that proved crucial in 2020 and will stay just as important in 2022.
But in order to maximize our impact on the ground, we must meet our fundraising goals. And unfortunately, we're falling $489 short of our weekly benchmark.
