Dear John,

Speaker Nancy Pelosi and President Joe Biden are famous for their attitude, “Rules for thee, but not for me.” Who can forget Speaker Pelosi getting caught in a beauty salon after she was speaking publicly in favor of Covid-19 lockdowns for small businesses?

Now, we see more of this behavior coming from the Biden family.

This week, I led the effort with more than 20 of my House colleagues to call on the Biden Administration nominee to the Alcohol,Tobacco, and Firearms (ATF), to commit to investigating the 2018 firearms background check completed by Hunter Biden.

Hunter answered “no” in response to a question “Are you an unlawful user of, or addicted to, marijuana or any depressant, stimulant, narcotic drug, or any other controlled substance?” as part of the background check, effectively falsifying the affidavit.

As your Representative in Congress, I am working to ensure that this matter is investigated and that no elected official, or their family, successfully positions themselves above the law.

These attitudes and behaviors combined with the power grabbing in Congress have made one thing abundantly clear: Joe Biden and Nancy Pelosi are moving as fast as they can to pass a radical left wing agenda. It has also become increasingly evident that when Republicans try to slow them down, they will even change the rules of the game in order to keep moving full speed ahead.

Over the past few months, I have joined with my conservative colleagues to require votes on nearly every piece of legislation that crossed the House floor. The Democrats, and yes even some Republicans, have complained about the inconvenience of taking a few extra votes each week. However, we conservatives believe voting is the most fundamental job entrusted to us representatives of the people.

I wasn’t sent here by the hardworking taxpayers of my district for self-promotion, or to have legal authorities provide special treatment for my family members!

Sadly, last week Speaker Pelosi increased her iron grip on the House by taking away our right to vote on every bill they put on the floor. They used their slim majority to force through a new rule that allowed them to package so-called "suspension" bills together -- after being debated individually -- into one vote, meaning members do not have to go on the record for their support of or opposition to individual bills. Not only does this undo years of precedent, it also attacks the rights of the minority, which is of course one of their primary objectives.

This was not the only power grab Speaker Pelosi passed last week. She set up a vote to unconstitutionally grant statehood to the District of Columbia. The Democrat Majority Leader audaciously admitted on the floor that it was about giving Democrats two more United States Senators. Yes, the Democrats are willing to ignore our Founders' intent to establish a separate federal district, simply for their blatant political advantage.

So, I went to the floor and denounced this move. I reminded my colleagues that the Democrats want to pack the Supreme Court, undermine election integrity, defund the police, and open up the borders in order to clear a path for their radical agenda. D.C. Statehood was just the latest example. The Democrats passed it on a party line vote.

Last week I also joined former Secretary of State Mike Pompeo to support legislation to put maximum pressure on Iran. Sadly, the Biden Administration is ignoring the successful Trump policies and is instead working to re-establish the failed Obama Iran Nuclear Deal.

The Democrats are engaged on all fronts in their attempt to remove our Constitutional rights and remake America into a radically different country as quickly as they can. I am fighting back every step of the way.
For God and Country,

Bob
