John,
I’ve talked a lot about the “arc of the universe.” How it bends toward justice.
That’s a quote from Dr. Martin Luther King, but a lot of folks who’ve blazed the trail for me would say that too. I do believe that the arc of the universe is a moral arc that bends toward justice — but we have to be the arc benders. We have to bend it. It doesn’t naturally happen, we have to actually pull on it.
Wherever I go, all across Kentucky, in Corbin, in Ashland, in Letcher County, Paducah, and Owensboro, I see the same thing. Black, White and Brown, from the hood to the holler, I see us all, together, pulling on that arc — pulling it towards justice.
And, that is something to have hope for, something I’m inspired by. And, it is certainly something that should motivate us to keep pushing. To keep standing together.
Right now, we’re pushing for accountability in our institutions. Kentucky is ready for real leadership that answers to the people. We’ve been ready.
That’s why I’m asking you to stand up with me once more. Will you endorse our movement to send the message that Kentucky is ready for change and a strong grassroots movement is ready to fight for it?

I know change is on the way in Kentucky because I’ve felt it in the streets when we marched, and when together we made sure Breonna’s Law was passed in Louisville. It’s not enough — it’s still not close to enough. We need justice, but we’re still fighting for even basic accountability.
But I believe in us. Because ultimately, we’re fighting because we just want to be okay, and we just want to take care of our families. That’s what all of this is about, and it’s why we’re pulling on the long, moral arc of the universe towards justice.
And, that’s why I’m here today asking you to join our movement and build our momentum so that if we decide to run against Rand Paul, we’ve got the support we need to win.
Thank you for standing with me.
