Friend,

Beginning next year, because of the most progressive higher education investment in the country, Washington's colleges will finally be a true reflection of the people in our state.

In May, Jay signed the Workforce Education Investment Act, which guarantees financial aid for more than 110,000 qualified students in Washington to attend college for free or at a discounted rate. It also expands the Career Connect Washington Initiative, which establishes a study-and-work approach so students can get real-life work experience and high school or college credit at the same time.

All this without raising taxes on the middle class -- but by asking big banks and tech to invest more in our state and our education system.

THIS IS THE KIND OF SYSTEM GOVERNORS SHOULD BE ADOPTING ACROSS THE COUNTRY -- HELPING STUDENTS REACH THEIR FULL POTENTIAL AND PROVIDING REAL-LIFE WORK EXPERIENCE ALONG THE WAY. If you're proud of Jay's work to secure one of the most progressive higher education investments in the country, add your name today.

What's different about Jay's plan to provide free and discounted college tuition to students across Washington state is that there's no fine print about who qualifies and who doesn't. Students are eligible if they are at or below the state's median family income, which is a little under $92,000 for a family of four.

It's that simple.

In Washington, no matter you or your family's income, you should be able to afford college and fulfill your dreams. This new law is making that a reality.

We also know that this works best if coupled with opportunities for students to build real-world experience. That's why this program works hand-in-hand to help students land jobs in STEM and other high-paying fields. These jobs exist everywhere and are sitting empty because we don't have enough qualified people to fill them -- that ends now.

This is exactly the kind of progressive investment in higher education we should see more of across the country: If you agree, add your name right now.
Thanks,
