Friend —

Did you hear the news? President Biden is coming to Philadelphia THIS Friday to celebrate the 50th anniversary of Amtrak and advocate for his sweeping infrastructure and jobs plan, which includes $80 billion to upgrade and expand passenger rail service AND another $85 billion to modernize existing public transit systems.

We’ve been shoring up support for the American Jobs Plan from members in all corners of the state, but we’re still missing you, friend. Can you send a message to your members of Congress in advance of the president’s visit urging them to deliver jobs, justice, and a clean energy future? [[link removed]]

Thanks for taking action today.

Hi, I'm floored.

1,266 state and local elected officials across the country — including Governor Wolf and 110 others in Pennsylvania — have come out publicly urging Congressional leaders to pass an economic recovery package that includes the most ambitious action on climate change, ever.

This is a BIG deal. The American Jobs Plan contains so much of what we've been fighting for: millions of new good-paying jobs. An economy powered by clean energy. A plan to seriously tackle environmental racism.

We applaud Governor Wolf and the PA elected officials for voicing their support of the plan, but this is only the beginning — and we need to act fast. In order to make this once-in-generation opportunity to build back better a reality, Congress needs to move things forward. Votes will be extremely close, and we know that Big Polluters and their allies are going to do whatever it takes to keep us addicted to toxic fossil fuels.

That's why it's critical that Pennsylvanians like you show up in force right now by standing with our elected officials who are demanding investments at the scale and scope necessary to address the compounding challenges we face. Will you sign on now and fight for clean energy jobs for every community? [[link removed]]

An ambitious economic recovery package to build back better could help us achieve the future we envision for our communities, and it must center low-income communities and communities of color that have been hardest hit by the climate crisis and toxic pollution. With enough investment from Congress, we can:
– Put the U.S. on the path to 100% clean energy powering everything from our electricity grid, transportation, and buildings with reliable, affordable clean energy.
– Promote justice by ensuring at least 40% of benefits go to the communities who need it most, prioritizing just and equitable solutions being led by Black, Brown, and low-income communities.
– Incentivize millions of high-quality, good paying union jobs, especially in the domestic clean energy and manufacturing sectors, while supporting communities that have relied on oil, gas, and coal jobs.

Our communities have already paid a high price for pollution and climate change. From higher rates of asthma and upper respiratory disease to flooding and deadly wildfires, we know first-hand the cost of inaction — and we cannot delay any longer. Our neighbors need help to get back on their feet, and we need to address the climate crisis that’s threatening our lives and our communities.

This is an unprecedented moment, but our margins in Congress are extremely narrow, and we're facing an onslaught of Big Oil propaganda and false claims about the recovery package.

Join elected officials across the state and tell your members of Congress that NOW is the time to invest in clean energy, justice, and jobs >> [[link removed]]

Chances like this to change our country and our world don't come around often, friend. Thank you for adding your voice today.
