We're sharing this because we want to be transparent with you about where our fundraising is. From where we currently stand, April is looking like it's about to be our worst month of fundraising this year.
You can see for yourself on the graph, but quite frankly, there's a lot of ground to make up in not much time. But the good news is we know our movement is strong — and that if everyone who reads this email chips in just $3.50, we can get back on track, hit our $7,500 end-of-month email fundraising goal, and keep things pushing. Will you please chip in?
Listen. We know that dips in fundraising are common. It's unreasonable to expect increasingly stellar fundraising month-over-month, especially when your movement is like ours, backed largely by the power of individual donors — not by lobbyists and corporate PACs cutting six-figure checks.
But our work is at a critical point right now, and we need the full support of this movement behind us to succeed.
There's just no way around it. If we want to have the resources we need to respond to things like the Census reapportionment, attacks from the establishment — all while keeping Jamaal legislating full time and preparing for the 2022 midterms — we have to catch up on our fundraising by the end of the month, John.
