The For the People Act is wildly popular among Independents, Democrats, and Republicans -- 83% of voters support this bill, including 73% of Independent voters and 74% of Republican voters.
That’s probably a key reason former Vice President Mike Pence has resorted to a disinformation campaign against it. This legislation would force self-serving politicians like him to be accountable to all voters. He must think that the quickest way to tank its favorability across party lines is to parrot lies about this pro-democracy bill.
As disinformation campaigns to dissuade key senators from supporting the For the People Act stem from top leaders of the Republican party, we must combat their falsehoods with the truth.

In a democracy, voters should be able to choose their elected officials, but folks like VP Pence would rather have extreme and partisan lawmakers enter office with the help of partisan congressional gerrymandering and voter suppression.
If we can pass this bill, we can finally protect and expand voting rights, get dark money out of politics, give power to voters instead of special interests, establish independent redistricting commissions, and end partisan congressional gerrymandering. The Senate must pass the For the People Act.
