I think you may know this already, but the overwhelming majority of contributions to our campaign come from messages like this one. They can be annoying, but they are a very important part of the work we’re doing to defend the Senate and make progress in Washington.

But something really strange has been happening. My campaign staff says our numbers are down compared to last month. Fewer people are opening these messages — and even less are pitching in lately.

I’m not surprised to hear this. Most campaigns expect a “summer slump” where their numbers tend to dip the warmer the weather gets because folks are enjoying the great outdoors. That’s been especially important during this pandemic. (Archie, Moose, and I love our long walks.)

The problem is, this fundraising slump has hit us a lot earlier than expected and we’re about to miss our April goal. So, I need to ask you to step up today.
