You Can Make History
====================
Walk one mile in cities across the United States starting October 15 through
November 3 to bring light to issues in our community, increase membership and
voter registration.
That’s our goal in the largest civil rights action ever by LULAC and we invite
you to be part of it by joining us - wherever you live. That’s right. This is our
chance to show America the power of LULAC at work walking shoulder-to-shoulder
with other local and national organizations to create a stronger, broader
coalition for freedom, liberty and justice.
We have reached a critical moment since the height of the civil rights movement
in our nation as women, Muslim, immigrant, LGBTQ, low-income, and communities of
color are under attack. This is our moment: We Walk. We Mobilize. We Vote!
Our Freedom Walks to the 2020 election begin in Brownsville, Texas, wind through
Corpus Christi, San Antonio, Austin, Dallas and Houston. Then, it’s onto New
Orleans, Louisiana followed by Jackson, Mississippi plus Birmingham and
Montgomery, Alabama. From there we head to Atlanta, Georgia then Orlando,
Florida. Charlotte, North Carolina is next and Charlottesville, Virginia before
setting our sights on our final destination: Washington, DC where we will arrive
on November 3, 2019, exactly one year before the 2020 Election.
Meanwhile, you can plan and celebrate your own Freedom Walk in your community
that includes joining your network of friends and social justice allies for one
mile before arriving at a site to speak out on vital local issues, offer voter
registration and LULAC member sign-ups. Join an existing Freedom Walk [ [link removed] ]
or sign-up to lead a solidarity walk [ [link removed] ] .
We’ll provide a total Freedom Walks Digital Guide and Toolkit with easy to
complete templates for Press Releases, invitations for walkers, sponsors and
volunteers. Plus, our LULAC Communications Team is available to provide support
and answers to questions you may have.
We can take action to create change as a movement inspired by the Freedom Riders
- determined to protect and defend our rights. Join us along the way! Or walk
where you live and invite others to join you. This is the power of solidarity and
the strength to create a community movement that leads. This is the power of We
The People to create the changes we want to see in our country.
See YOU on Freedom Walks and make your place in history.

About Freedom Walks for Justice
The Freedom Walks for Justice is a national campaign being led by LULAC.

national leaders to walk in unity across 14 different cities in eight states
across the U.S.and the District of Columbia from October 15 - November 3, 2019.
The Freedom Walks will include: a one-mile march, a community gathering at the
end-point, and community resources to inform all participants and serve as a hub
for civic engagement, including voter registration. The first walks will start on
the U.S.-Mexico border city of Brownsville, Texas, and Corpus Christi, Texas,
LULAC’s birthplace in 1929, and end in Washington, D.C. on November 3, 2019-- one
