This week, we lift up stories from community leaders who are building a more democratic economy from the ground up. Our lead story is an Economy Remix article that profiles day laborer organizing in Seattle, the northern California community of Santa Cruz, and the southern California community of Pasadena. We also feature a webinar that highlights the efforts to combine community organizing and economy building of a Chicana-led nonprofit in El Paso, a Native American group in Minnesota, and a worker co-op organizing hub in Cincinnati—as well as a short article that reflects on that conversation. Lastly, there is a question stemming from that webinar where you can weigh in: What term in our economic vocabulary would you most like to get rid of and why?
