It's easy to get caught up in the stresses of everyday life, and even to dwell on some of the animosity and hostility in the world. But wouldn't it be nice if we all took a moment to share some kindness and inspire joy in others?

Well, today is the day to do it. It's International Pay It Forward Day — a day to extend a random act of kindness to someone else, with no expectation but simply encouraging them to pay the same generosity forward to someone else.

Pay It Forward Day is a reminder of the simple acts in life that we can all do to make someone's day. You could touch a life today with something as seemingly insignificant as offering to carry a stranger's groceries, paying for a stranger's coffee, chipping into a charitable cause, or lending a hand to someone in need.

It doesn't take much. We all have the power to extend kindness and spread positivity into the world. Compassion and generosity can bring humanity together in even the smallest, unexpected of ways — so why not give it a try and put a smile on someone's face today?
