Friend,

Thanks to your help AB286, to ban ghost guns, has made it through the
Nevada Assembly. It is now headed to the Nevada Senate Judiciary
Committee. We need this bill to be heard and voted out of committee by the
next Deadline Day which is May 14th, 2021.

Ghost guns have risen in popularity during the last few years as people
seek ways around standard background checks. AB286 will make ghost gun
possession and distribution illegal in Nevada. Responsible gun ownership
is key to a safe society. The ability to bypass background checks and
purchase these cheap, untraceable gun kits, which can be easily assembled,
has been linked to [ [link removed] ]increasing amounts of gun violence and crime.

Gun violence tragedy has been a common theme with ghost guns. In Las
Vegas, we saw a young man accidentally shoot and kill a sibling with a
ghost gun. In California, two sheriff's deputies were shot and killed with
ghost guns purchased in Northern Nevada. Our state should not be in the
business of exporting gun violence.
