Dear Friends,
As a community, we have experienced the added stress of a global pandemic for more than a year, with depression, anxiety, and mental health challenges on the rise. While we are beginning to see hope on the horizon for a return to normalcy, the lingering effects of these challenges remain. Ensuring the mental health of all Americans is more important now than ever and AFSP is at the forefront of elevating conversations about taking care of oneself and those around us.
AFSP is the leading organization dedicated to suicide prevention and with your help, we have made significant strides in the fight against this leading cause of death. Throughout the pandemic, we have amplified the need for universal access to mental health care. Through our more than 32,000 Field Advocates, we advocate for legislation that addresses the disparity in mental healthcare access for underserved and underrepresented communities. Our 72 chapters nationwide deliver suicide prevention education and support programs in schools and workplaces to build awareness and share vital resources. AFSP also continues to be the leading private funder of suicide prevention research, which leads to the development of innovative strategies to better understand and prevent suicide.
The work of AFSP would not be possible without your continued support.
This May, for Mental Health Awareness Month, we ask that you make a gift in support of AFSP and our dedication to ensuring #MentalHealth4All. We all have mental health and it is imperative that everyone is supported in finding the care they need. We can make real change and build mentally healthy and suicide safe communities, but we can only do it together.
Please join me in making a gift today in support of our life-saving mission so that together, we can build a culture that ensures #MentalHealth4All.
Regards,
Robert Gebbia
