Congratulations to newly elected Morgantown City Councilmembers Ixya Vega and Brian Butcher! 

Last night's victory belongs not just to Vega and Butcher, but also fellow candidate Marly Ynigues, Morgantown Can't Wait lead organizers Rachel Byrne and Sarah Hutson, and dozens of volunteers.
 
We're proud to back candidates who signed on to Morgantown Can't Wait's community-crafted platform, including plans to expand affordable housing, advance cannabis decriminalization and ensure equality of access in city government.
 
Today, we're two seats closer to winning a government where the people who work the hardest and bear the most are also the ones who write the laws.
