When the people of Virginia elected me as Governor almost four years ago, they sent a clear message about the kind of place they want to live in.

Virginians want a state that moves forward, not back. We want a Commonwealth that takes care of its citizens when they need help the most. A place where our children are supported and safe in school, where people can afford to see a doctor when they need to, and now, a place where we are protected from COVID-19.

It’s my humble opinion that we delivered on our promises and have made incredible progress over the past few years — progress that would not have been possible without Delegate Hala Ayala.

From introducing and ratifying the Equal Rights Amendment to fighting to expand Medicare to 500,000 Virginians to co-sponsoring legislation legalizing marijuana in Virginia — Hala’s work has made a lasting impact on the people of the Commonwealth.
