Dear Friend, |
As we celebrated Earth Day, President Biden re-established U.S. leadership on climate at a global summit, committed the nation to reducing our emissions by 50% by 2030, and promoted his plan to build an equitable, clean energy economy and combat the climate crisis. |
If it seems like a lot is going on, that’s because it’s true. The previous administration worked hard to enable polluters to keep pumping carbon into the atmosphere, so we are playing catch up and clawing our way out of that hole. Until now, no administration has treated climate change as the crisis it is, so we need to move quickly and do everything we can to make up for lost time. We’re going to keep pushing the Biden administration to do more — including shutting down the Dakota Access Pipeline — because a livable future depends on it. |
The climate, racial justice, and extinction crises compel us to act with conviction, to push onward, and to never rest until we’ve uprooted harmful systems and created a society that reflects our values. We don’t have the luxury of opting out of these fights — which is why we hope you’ll continue your advocacy for people and planet. |
