Have A Beverage With Our Board of Directors

2019 End of Year Party

Wrap up Membership Month with us by taking a moment with our entire Board of Directors. Get to know these passionate volunteers who keep us going and growing. Ask your questions about our mission, future growth, and what they hope to see.

Meet other members, have your beverage and/or snack of choice - we hope to have in-person happy hours someday soon!

Matching Donor: Kezia Plattner

Keziah Plattner

Keziah is our third featured member who stepped this month up to grow our movement - by offering to double your donations! She's "a security engineer, amateur tarot card reader, karaoke lover, and fangirl of the 33.

"For me, transit is at the intersection of many important movements: equity, climate change, pedestrian safety, accessibility, just to name a few," says Keziah.

"I hope one day San Francisco can be the kind of city where nobody needs an app to guess when the next bus is coming—because there will always be one on its way. I’m excited for the work SFTR is doing with 30x30 and advocating for a frequent, rapid bus network!"

We couldn't agree more, thank you Keziah!

May 6: Rally For Transit Service!

The Metropolitan Transporation Commission (MTC) is our regional transit funding agency, which means they receive the funds from the federal government for public transit and then distribute that funding to local agencies.

MTC plans to hold on to $1.7B of federal recovery transit funding until late July, after San Francisco will adopt its budget. This locks in austerity plans while transit riders are being passed up and many Muni routes are still suspended.

We need service restored as quickly as possible! Ridership is returning faster than expected. If service isn't ready to handle demand, it will hurt our recovery; hurt our students; hurt our essential workers. It will leave us in worse traffic and we'll miss our chance to "build back better" for an equitable, sustainable future.

Join us Thursday, May 6, at 12:00, along with a regional coalition of social justice advocates, climate activists, unions, and more for a rally and march from the Transbay Terminal to the MTC offices.

Membership Month: We're Almost There!

We're just $2,200 short of our fundraising goal - so close! We're also hoping to have 20 more new members by Thursday, can you be one of them?

If you donate before the end of the month, you get:

  • a chance to win a spot on the Central Subway Tour
  • an extra chance for every new member who says you referred them to join
  • an SFTR t-shirt

Help us reach our goals, help us grow the movement, help us keep fighting for awesome transit!
