āFlorida Voting Restrictions Bill Clears Hurdle in Legislatureā
-- New York Times
It's not just Georgia, friends. Republicans are advancing voter suppression legislation all over the country, and Florida -- home to 2,976,000 eligible Latinx voters -- is their next target. Let's be clear: This legislation will disproportionately silence Latinx voices.
This means we need to really step it up before the midterms. Will you chip in to fuel our election program?

The Florida bill would add more unnecessary requirements and restrictions for absentee voting, and ban outside groups from āgiving water to voters within 150 feet of a voting location.ā (Yes, you read that right. Theyāre literally trying to restrict water.)
Florida Republicans acknowledged that the 2020 election was well-run -- so why these changes? Because they're worried that as the Latinx community and other communities of color grow, Republicans will continue to lose power. And instead of changing their policies, their answer is voter suppression.
Thatās why we need to work even harder to make sure they canāt silence our voices. Latinx voters -- over 600,000 of whom Voto Latino has helped register -- were a main driver of Democratic wins in 2020 and early 2021. We have to double down on our proven strategy to overcome voter suppression and get even more Latinx voters to the polls in 2022 and beyond.
This fight is just getting started. Donate what you can today to ensure our community keeps coming out strong:
