John,

Last year, the U.S. experienced 22 record-breaking climate disasters and scientists are predicting even more extremes for 2021, including a permanent drought for Western states.1

Unless we keep ALL fossil fuels in the ground, we will not see the major improvements we need on the climate crisis. That’s why we’re organizing to pass the Keep it in the Ground Bill. This legislation would stop the extraction of oil on federal lands and prioritize solving the climate crisis once and for all.

Together, we can stop the expansion of fossil fuel drilling on public lands by putting pressure on our members of Congress to sign the Keep It in the Ground Act into law.

Will you add your name to become a citizen co-sponsor of the Keep It in the Ground Bill to show Congress the strength of our movement? [link removed]

Thank you for taking action today so we can build a future for all.

John,

For decades, the federal government has allowed the fossil fuel industry to drill on public lands.

Today, we can stop the expansion of fossil fuel drilling on public lands by passing the Keep It in the Ground Act of 2021 introduced by the U.S. Senator Jeff Merkley and Congressmember Jared Huffman.

We are asking you to add your name as a citizen co-sponsor to this crucial piece of legislation.

Can you add your name today to become a citizen co-sponsor of the Keep It in the Ground Act?

If made into law, this new bill will not only stop new leases for coal, oil, gas, oil shale, and tar sands drilling on federal lands, but, it will also make sure that over 90% of the potential carbon emissions from oil, gas, and coal on our federal lands and waters stay in the ground.

Our public land is not a commodity. It’s a common good. We need to put an end to the fossil fuel industry profiting off of our communities and our land now.

But we can't do it alone. It's going to take all of us:

Will you add your name today and join thousands of people across the country signing on as citizen co-sponsors?

Now is the time to demand that fossil fuels stay in the ground.

Now is the time for Congress to act and for our government to stop using our public lands to make the fossil fuel industry richer.

Now is the time for our movement to stand up to the entire fossil fuel industry.

Big oil and gas may have unlimited sums of money to lobby politicians, but we have something even more powerful. We have each other.

Join your representatives and become a citizen co-sponsor of the Keep It in the Ground Act. Together, we can end the age of fossil fuels. → [link removed]
