Hi Friend,

We’ve got one more shot to defeat Republicans’ latest attempt to stop Texans from voting: House Bill 6.

House Bill 6 -- or HB 6 -- is Republicans’ most recent effort to silence Texans by slashing our right to vote. It’s racist, wrong, and illegal -- and it’s up for a final vote in the Texas House as early as next week. Our Democratic legislators are doing everything they can to stop this bill from going through -- and they need to know we have their back.

Our right to vote is guaranteed by the Constitution. HB 6 is designed to scare us away from using that right. It targets seniors, voters with disabilities, and people who help others vote -- like a kid helping a parent who needs them to translate. And it opens the door to voter intimidation by allowing partisan poll watchers to harass voters -- just like what Republicans did in the Jim Crow era to stop Black voters from exercising their power.

The thing is, HB 6 is not the only bill of its kind. Republicans across the country are making a coordinated attack on our right to vote. And the simple reason is they’re terrified. We are gaining power like never before. Young people. People of color. Voters with disabilities. Working people.

We are ready to vote Republicans out. So they’re trying to shut down our voices.
