Already this year, eight people were shot dead in Atlanta. Ten people were killed at a grocery store in Boulder. And eight more were killed at a FedEx facility in Indianapolis. And these are just deaths from high profile mass shootings that made the news — the list of Americans murdered due to senseless gun violence goes on and on and on. 

My mom was killed in a senseless shooting, too. And as a survivor, it sickens me to watch gun violence continue to destroy families, unchecked. Mass shootings are getting more frequent and more deadly — and if we don't act, there will be another. 

I joined the Brady team because they're leading the fight to save lives from gun violence. We're working in Congress, the courts, and communities — fighting for the kind of common-sense change we desperately need. 

And now I'm asking you to join the Brady team, too. Today we're launching a membership drive — and we're asking 10,000 people to come forward and become 2021 Brady Members. It's an ambitious goal — but with enough grassroots advocates like you by our side fighting for change, I know we can get there.

Without immediate action, the NRA will only continue to buy silence and inaction from politicians. Just last week, the NRA announced a $2 MILLION campaign aimed at stopping the Biden-Harris administration from taking action to end America's gun violence epidemic.

But here's the thing, John: We've defeated the NRA before — and we can do it again. But not without grassroots activists like you by our side.

That's why meeting this goal is so important. Everything from expanded background checks to an assault weapons ban is on the line, but with time running out before our midnight deadline, we're still falling short of the members we need to make this change a reality.
