A look at our first Impact Report.
Dear John,
As I was finishing my senior year of high school last year with remote learning, I stepped up to become March For Our Lives' Digital Manager. We started 2020 with big goals for this movement. And as we reflect on last year -- a year when physical and emotional ills were felt deeply by our nation's young people and the entrenched plagues of American racism and inequity were laid bare -- it's easy to remember the pits and forget about the peaks.
But we don't take enough time to celebrate wins. So, we decided to release our first-ever impact report and we wanted you to see it because your work is critical in this fight. Let's take a moment to appreciate each other, recognize what we've accomplished together, and reaffirm our commitment to this movement.

Together, we mobilized a record number of young people and helped increase youth voter turnout by up to 24% since 2016. We lobbied 44 federal offices last year, and helped pass 180 gun violence prevention laws in states since our founding. We launched our first ever TV ad -- can confirm, it’s worth a watch. We met with top campaign/administration officials, pulling a folding chair up to an already crowded table, to ensure young BIPOC voices are centered in the Biden administration's efforts to curb gun violence.
Grassroots supporters like you strengthened our organization and made this work possible. Check out the work we've done and get a sense of where we’re headed in 2021 in our full Impact Report.

In a country with more guns than people, we are, quite literally, outnumbered. But we are proud to have persevered in our work to save lives as an organization and movement. The change we have been able to create in our local communities and beyond is made possible by the steadfast support and generosity of the people standing alongside us in the fight to end gun violence.
We are relentlessly pursuing solutions to the many inequities that affect lives and drive gun tragedies -- from reimagining community safety; to treating gun violence like the public health crisis that it is; to ensuring free and fair elections for disenfranchised people; to dismantling the gun lobby and ending the careers of corrupt politicians -- all so we can build a new understanding of peace and justice for our generation. We deserve and demand it.
Onward,
Matthew Hogenmiller
