Far-right Republicans in California secured the signatures to FORCE a recall election of Governor Gavin Newsom.
Here's what we know:
There's still a 30-day grace period in which signatories can reconsider their decision. Barring any changes, CNN reports this election could land on the ballot "as early as this summer."
It gets worse: Donald Trump's campaign operatives are already involved, and they're elevating pseudo-celebrity and pro-Trump candidate Caitlyn Jenner as their candidate of choice. They'll be able to bring Trump's network of activists and donors to bear on the election.
We can't lose Gavin -- especially as it threatens our progress in getting COVID under control and our economy back on track.
We launched an emergency effort to raise $20,000 to defend Gavin Newsom, but we're coming up $8,309 short. Can you chip in $5 or whatever you can to defend Newsom against these Trump-aligned attacks.
