Here’s the situation on the ground, John:
- After months of delays, the Census Bureau just released the number of seats in Congress each state is going to have for the next decade.
- The bad news: a lot of seats are being moved to states where Republicans are actively pushing Jim Crow-style voter suppression laws.
- The worse news: this makes it even easier for the GOP to draw unfair maps and rig their way back to power.
John, here’s the good news: organizers in 2020 credit our wins in formerly red states like Georgia and Arizona to early investments made in 2018 and before. That’s why we’re already preparing for 2022.
We’ve already made our first pro-democracy endorsement of the cycle — and have ambitious plans to build a bench of voting rights champions nationwide. But with Republicans spending an unprecedented amount of early money, we need more help.
If you’re financially able, consider making a $15 donation. We’re raising $10,000 by Friday at midnight to send directly to candidates who will take on voter suppression and gerrymandering.
If you've stored your payment information with ActBlue Express, your donation will process immediately. |
Thanks,
The Majority Rules
