Hello there,
The moment Derek Chauvin was rightfully convicted for murdering George Floyd, the Black community and the entire country let out a long sigh of relief.
Americans embraced each other with the hope that this is an important first step towards justice.
But not Marjorie Taylor Greene.
Instead of recognizing the pain, grief, and relief of so many Black Americans, some her own constituents, Greene took to Twitter to warn that “Black Lives Matter has now proven itself to be the most powerful domestic terrorists organization in our country.”
Greene didn't share the same concern over “domestic terrorism” when thousands of her primarily white right-wing suppoters stormed the Capitol on January 6. Or when videos emerged of pro-Trump insurrectionists wearing swastikas and calling to hang former Vice President Mike Pence. Or when details emerged of her ties to anti-government militia groups.
