Dear John,
Climate change poses growing threats to America’s farmers and ranchers — from extreme heat and drought to larger, more frequent and damaging floods.
At the same time, agriculture accounts for 10% of America’s climate emissions. By working with farmers and ranchers to advance climate-smart agriculture policies, we can achieve win-win solutions that cut pollution, build resilience and reduce climate risk.
That’s why we are so proud to partner with Horizon Organic to work with their network of consumers and dairy farmers to promote climate-smart agriculture policies. And we’re calling on our supporters to take action.
Please add your voice by emailing your members of Congress letting them know you support climate-smart agriculture policies that empower America’s farmers and ranchers and be part of the climate solution.

What does climate-smart agriculture look like? The good news is there are many solutions that can make a big difference.
For example, creating incentives to plant cover crops, reduce tillage and improve livestock management can help improve soil health and increase climate resilience.
We can also promote public and private-sector tools to enable farmers, ranchers and forest owners to prioritize and scale climate-smart practices.
And we can offer incentives for farmers to reduce energy consumption, increase use of on-farm renewable energy and make continued progress toward reducing the lifecycle GHG emissions of agriculture- and forestry-based renewable energy.
These and other solutions can have a big impact in reducing climate emissions, building resilience and providing common-sense incentives for farmers, ranchers and rural communities.
Please join this effort by taking action today. Tell your members of Congress to support win-win climate-smart agriculture policies.
