It was just announced that Jamie Raskin has been offered (and accepted) an amazingly important new position with the House Democrats.

He will lead the House Democrats’ organizing efforts for the 2022 cycle, defending and expanding our slim majority to ensure we keep control of the House.

Jamie’s appointment is due to the incredible success of Democracy Summer — his celebrated program to educate and empower a new generation of activists and organizers.

This year, for the first time ever, Team Raskin is partnering with the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee (DCCC) and the campaigns of Democratic Members of Congress and Democratic challengers across the country to expand Democracy Summer nationally for an online summer program, where high school and college student Fellows will learn from activist heroes, top political leaders, and Democratic policy experts and organizers across the country.

They spend the other half of their time organizing: registering voters, phone-banking, knocking doors, building social media campaigns, educating their generation on the Democratic program.

Democracy Summer helped elect a surge of new Democrats in tough districts in 2018 and 2020. And now with this new and extraordinary partnership, Team Raskin and Democracy Summer will be able to help protect and expand our Democratic majority and propel more Democrats to victory than ever before.
