As niños across the country return to in-person learning, we can't help but think about the 25 million of those niños who will also return to daily exposure to toxic diesel pollution coming from their school buses. Riding the bus to and from school should be something that enriches the lives of our niños. Currently, that's not the case. The longer we wait to electrify school buses, the longer we put the health of our niños at risk from preventable air pollution.

Each non-COVID school day, nearly half of school-aged children ride outdated school buses, and they are exposed to diesel pollution that has detrimental effects on respiratory health. That's why we've teamed up with the Electric School Bus Coalition to encourage President Biden and Vice President Harris to prioritize a #CleanRide4Kids in their Build Back Better initiatives. They both just visited factories that make electric school buses — let's build on this momentum. We need LCV supporters to speak up and demand clean air for healthy niños!
