While a majority of Americans let out a sigh of relief after Derek Chauvin was found guilty of murdering George Floyd, Marjorie Taylor Greene took to Twitter to warn her followers that “BLM is the strongest terrorist threat in our country.”
It's interesting that Greene would say this when over 400 Capitol insurrectionists, many from white supremacist militia groups, have been charged for attemping a coup on January 6. And the Department of Homeland Security explicitly warned that the threat from right-wing extremists “will persist” during the Biden administration.
Our country is under threat, that much is clear, but it's not under threat from the millions of Americans who are fighting for racial justice, inclusion, and equality.
Marjorie Taylor Greene is not the only Republican in Congress who is working to demonize the Black Lives Matter movement and dismantle it through legislation. Today, we want to know what the American people believe is really the greatest threat our country faces and how our leaders should address it.
